A Clinical Review of Spleen Rupture

Abstract
Splenic injuries generally are associated with an unusually high with mortality, primarily related
to delay in recognition and severity of associater injuries. Often the management of splenic injury
is but one aspect in the total care of the massively injured patient. Thus, with an increasing inc
idence of nonpenetrating abdominal injuries, the key to lowering mortality is improvement in the
overall care of the injured patient by a thorough knowledge of diagnostic measures required and
surgical management necessary, in proper sequence, of each every possible injured.
